OBA Summer Camp Registration is Open!
July Camps:
U11 (Formally Tykes) Bball Camp - Ages 7-10
July 18th-22nd at the Cavalry FC Regional Field House - 9:00am-12:00pm
The U11 - formally known as Tykes age is a crucial age to get kids excited about basketball and the love of the game. Players at this age range need to be coached differently than Jr High or High school-aged players. With OBA’s years of experience running highly successful Fall and Winter programs and the number of parents who have reached out for a summer camp, we are running one!
Coach to player ratios will be very low. We feel that players at this age need more attention and specific feedback, so we will make sure to have plenty of coaches on hand to help these younger players. Drills and skills will focus on game-like activities rather than the traditional ways of running camps. Research has stated (time and time again) that players learn more through simulated games. Yes, we will be teaching fundamental skills, but we will be spicing them up so that they are age-specific and age-appropriate.

Jr High and High School Aged Bball Camp - Ages 13-17
July 18th-22nd at the Cavalry FC Regional Field House - 1:00pm-4:00pm
Okotoks Basketball Association (OBA) is running a joint Jr High and High school aged Basketball Camp for athletes going into Gr 7-12. There are many advantages of running a camp like this. Some of those advantages include: role modeling, having the chance to play with older players, leadership opportunities and the pure excitement of having a large age range of players.
The camp will have many experienced coaches to help players develop their love of the game. Coach to player ratios will be low to make sure players get the individual attention they need. OBA is famous for our coaches forming relationships with our campers so that both players and campers are excited to come back year after year.
The camp will focus on the latest concepts of skill development and style of play. This means OBA has instituted a modern style of play that is supported by Canada Basketball and Alberta Basketball. The camp will be a mixture of skills, drills and gameplay.

August Camps:
Elementary Aged Bball Camp - Ages 10-12
August 8th-12th at the Cavalry FC Regional Field House - 9:00am-12:00pm
Okotoks Basketball Association (OBA) is running an elementary school aged camp for players older than U11 and up to grade 6 . This specific age group needs individual attention as most of the players are on newer side to basketball. The camp will focus on developing common skills and game tactics needed for this age group of players.
The camp will have many experienced coaches to help players develop their love of the game. Coach to player ratios will be low to make sure players get the individual attention they need. OBA is famous for our coaches forming relationships with our campers so that both players and campers are excited to come back year after year.
The latest concepts of skill development and style of play will be introduced so that players can take these skills and feel comfortable extending their basketball experiences. This means OBA has instituted a modern style of play that is supported by Canada Basketball and Alberta Basketball. The camp will be a mixture of skills, drills and gameplay.

High School Aged Bball Camp - Ages 15-17
August 8th-12th at the Cavalry FC Regional Field House - 1:00pm-4:00pm
Okotoks Basketball Association (OBA) is running a High School (HS) aged Basketball Camp for athletes going into Gr 10-12 only! There won't be any Jr High aged players at all. This means the camp will focus on skills and game tactics for the high school athlete. Specifically, we have hand-picked coaches to train alongside the players. This won’t be “just another camp”. We will run the training sessions and the coaches will train and coach at the same time! This will enhance the skill level of the camp and offer the players on-the-spot feedback and guidance.
We have arranged for experienced coaches who are interested in the development of all players. The coach to player ratio will be very low, so lots of attention and coaching will be given to every player. There will be video sessions, skills & drills, technical breakdowns all mixed in with lots of game situations and game tactics.
